This is an article I wrote about American schools in Kuwait and specifically American Creativity Academy. The article is for my Internet marketing class in the American Creativity Academy taught by Mr. Ziring Zuhrar.
American schools in Kuwait are a lot and each one of them as different curriculum and different system. The American schools in Kuwait are Bayan Bilingual School, American School of Kuwait, American International l School, American Bilingual School, Universal School of Kuwait, American Creativity Academy for Girls, American Creativity Academy for boys. All the American schools in Kuwait are private and they are all located in the same region Hawally except for ABS it is in Khaitan. All of the schools are K-12 institution which also includes a pre-school. Most of the schools are also accreted by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
The American Creativity Academy (ACA) is a school with Islamic beliefs and accepts students and teachers of all nationalities and religions. The school was founded in 1997 as an elementary school but has grown since then as a K-12 intuition. The American Creativity Academy has two campuses a boy’s campus and girls campus. The boy’s campus is much bigger and has a great soccer field. It’s basically many building connected. The girl’s campus on the other hand, has a very small building and a soccer and basketball field.
The schedule for the high school and middle school in ACA is seven periods each day, starting at 7:15 and ending at 2:15, with a 15-minute break for middle school and elementary and a 30-minute lunch/recess for elementary to high school. Each period is 50 minutes long, with 5-minute break between each class.
The school started the International Baccalaureate program recently. Students have a choice in joining the full program and receive an IB diploma, or they can take certain IB classes and receive certificates for each class. American Creativity Academy is one of the two American Schools in Kuwait that have the IB program.
American Creativity Academy cafeteria is known for the expired and low quality food it served. Students of different age complain about the company the school is dealing with because the food they taste every day. Comparing the food that is served in our school to the food that is served in other schools is like comparing the food in a five star hotel to food served in jail.
Even though there are a lot of negatives in The American Creativity Academy I have to admit that I enjoyed studying in ACA for eleven years and seeing the school getting better in some parts and worse in others but it is still one of the best American schools in Kuwait.
